Robin Shulman grew up in a farming town in the heart of tobacco country in Ontario, Canada, and several moves later, arrived in New York City at age 16. So she has a bit of farm and a lot of city in her.

As a journalist, Robin has reported for news outlets including The Washington Post, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Slate, and The Guardian. She has worked in rural, suburban and urban America and in the Middle East. She lives in New York City.
